We are proud to offer an exquisite early 20th century French hand lettering trade sign. This is truly a unique piece of trade sign retail art in our opinion, never seen the like before. Hand painted on canvas, showcasing the hand lettering artists talents in different styles including 3D, scroll, calligraphy, relief, plaque and marbling effects. This example is signed which makes it even more special. This item would have originally hung in the window of a hand lettering store in Paris to illustrate what the artist could offer as a service. The Canvas is large and is framed (Not photographed framed to showcase its natural color) in a bespoke frame to keep it preserved and make it easy to display. A truly one of example, rare is detail and subject matter, overall a wonderful piece of history showcased through a beautiful piece of art. Size in inches approximate: H 70” x W 50” x D 0.5” Units: 1 Age: Early 20th century Origin: Paris France Condition: This item shows lots of age, wear and tear in the form of natural patina across its hand painted surface, the paint has over the years aged, cracked in places but not come away from the canvas. There is a respectfully repaired section running down the middle which may have been repaired by the artist him/herself as it’s very clean and not that noticeable. This item is framed to keep it secure and safe; the canvas is firm and structurally strong.
