Italian folk art Pyrography picture signed, H. Toscano
This is an original and unusual detailed 1690 enactment , and hand incised work of art on wood panel of a violin maker presenting his violin. This violoncello was made by Antonio Stradivari in 1690, along with the violins and the two violas commissioned by the Cremona nobleman Bartolomeo Ariberti as a gift for the grand prince Ferdinando de’Medici, who was well known for his passion for music and a generous protector of promising young musicians.
Likely unique, this work of art is hand incised in Italian language using pyrographic techniques.
It is described on bottom in Italian writing and signed H. Toscano. This unusual historic work of art dates to the 19th century.
Dimensions: 16 inches high and 11 inches wide
Provenance: Old American collection find.

py·rog·ra·phy is the art or technique of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point. Pyrography was particular popular during the last quarter of the 19th century and first quarter of the 20th century
