About the Item
A beautifully colored and wonderfully composed original Haitian Folk Art painting. This work features a tranquil coastal village landscape scene with local people spotted throughout the countryside, and island just off the shoreline, and boats throughout the calm ocean bay . The colors (note the clouds in the sky and green jungle foliage) are really quite amazing.
The painting is signed "Pierre". There are a number of well known Haitian artist that share that name. We are not sure which of those particular artist painted this work.
The painting was likely created sometime in the mid to later 20th Century.
It is framed and ready to display.
A wonderful work. Would be a great addition to any Haitian painting / Folk Art collection or make for an eye catching stand alone accent artwork in about any setting.
