About the Item
A beautiful, intricately detailed, and boldly colored South Indian miniature painting of village life in Rajasthan, India. These paintings are also known as Rajput paintings and/or Rajasthani paintings. This style evolved and flourished in the royal courts of Rajputana in northern India, mainly during the 17th and 18th centuries, and was often made for the imperial Mughal court.
This work is signed (looks like "Nar Singh") and dated (1991) by the artist. It is also noted that it was painted in Pushkar, India a village in Rajasthan built around a holy lake.
Painted on silk or cloth.
