About the Item

A small wall hanging quilt by master quilter Nina M. Groves known for her famous Quilt barn trail which had designs of them painted on over 1000 barns, buildings and other structures over 43 states around the country. She displayed her famous quilts at many shows, universities and galleries winning many awards one was in 1993 called the " Escher Award " for her geometric patterned work after the Dutch artist M.C. Escher who did iconic drawings that were very optical, conceptual and geometric. A documentary film called " Pieced Together " by Juliana Donofrio was done on Nina and the Adams County Ohio area barns that were painted, Ms. Groves from Manchester Ohio died in 2015 at the age of 87. The quilt is signed in ink to the back by Groves, dated 1991 and titled Tumbling Blocks.
