Sophisticated Old-World Antique Ferahan Sarouk Dainty Flora Suspended Vines About: One of the most sought-after pieces of the first quarter of the 20th century - these are amongst the finest pieces woven by some of BY FAR the most talented and patient weavers. The fine details alone will pacify your eyes for years, let alone the exotic vine work, mid-scale pomegranate/flower head motifs, and of course the gorgeous medallion that will instantly take you back to the loom where these weavers created such art, one small knot at a time. The imperfect shape of the medallion and uneven scale really put into perspective just how nomadic even the finest pieces of this era were. The border is remarkable with grassy greens, salmon, and some of the most vivid array of complimenting dyes we've ever seen. Enormous bands of abrash take over large breaths of the field from strawberry to soft rust, to a muted melon, to rich cherry, apple, and raspberry hues that keep the eyes full of nutrients and anti-oxidants! Size: 10.5 x 13.3 Age: Antique, C. 1900's Pile: Low with gorgeous character-rich patina throughout; this piece has been restored in some areas by master weavers overseas - wonderful age-related condition, if you want something in perfect condition, this iis not your rug - if you want a genuinely old piece that has been thoughtfully loved, touched-up, and you care more about the age, character, and intention - this is your piece. Fully restored fringe ends which is incredible as it is, not to mention some wonderful rewoven areas that although hard to distinguish, still add so much more story to an ancient piece like this. This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one in the world, no others are available. Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects. Always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding. This rug is also available with a custom cut pad (sold separately).
