About the Item

An early tramp art gem, carved by hand from hundreds of small wood pieces locked together into a “crown of thorns” lattice. Circa late 19th century, this frame holds all the irregularities and quirks you want—angles that don’t quite line up, cuts that show the maker’s hand, and a warm aged patina that can’t be faked. Folk art, raw and ingenious, built to be both fragile and enduring. 18" Width 13.5" Height 4.5" Depth
