Hundreds of hand-carved pegs, all pressure-fit, no nails. This late 19th century “crown of thorns” frame is as graphic as it is fragile, a double-window construction with serious presence. The dark, patinated stain shows off every notch and angle, proof of the obsessive labor it took to build. Folk art at its finest—raw, inventive, and one-of-a-kind.
