This detailed carving captures the rustic spirit of 19th and early 20th-century Alpine craftsmanship and features an intricately sculpted wooden head. Probably created as a decorative homage to hunting culture, this piece would make a striking addition to a trophy room, hunting lodge, or rustic cabin. They follow a naturalistic representation and one could think that in this way they are symbolically brought back from the abstraction of dead antlers into liveliness.
