This large, impressive sculpture of D'mba or Nimba (the Great Mother) is by the Baga people from the coast of Guinea-Bissau.
The exaggerated figure has an oversize head covered in geometric patterns in paint, fabric and metal. The scale gives it great presence in any space.
Structurally sound, it has overall wear from age and use.
