About the Item
A fine example of a carved and polychrome wooden eagle with shield probably from the Boston Artistic Carving Company. This well known company was active in Boston from the late 19th century to the 1950’s, best known for their spread-wing eagles, featuring distinctive banners , shields, and arrows, often in red, white, blue, and gold finishes. This eagle probably dates to the early 20th century and is in very good condition, with minimal surface imperfections and light wear commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 11.25 in H x 30 in W x 3 in D. Ref: 8
