About the Item
Miniature Folk Art Dresser with three working drawers and dovetailed joinery. This gleeful piece is handmade with such care, even the interior drawers are made with the same joinery as the case.
Stamped faintly to the top with "Montgomery, TX", this gem must have been an early souvenir for tourism to that small town, three quarters of a century ago.
The way the maker selected the proportions and softly sanded each drawer edge and carved the tiny drawer pulls is truly charming and a sign that he or she took care and had pride in their work. The soft curves along the bottom of the dresser in the front as well as the back, point to the maker's detailed work and attention to ensure a final product worth the time and energy used to create it.
