About the Item
Stone spheres as these where made from antiquity to the present day. As a universal form it served as a ornamental object in gardens, architecture and interiors but also had a deeper spiritual meaning. It was for example believed that spheres protected the owner from negativity. In Asia this purpose was even deeper explored. Finally it's worth mentioning that sculpting these spheres was often trusted to apprentice sculptors as a advanced training.
