About the Item

A large, unique, masterly carved Indonesian sculpture featuring a temple village scene with tall pagodas, dancers, musicians, monks, carved Indonesian gods and spirit figures, etc... The sculpture is carved from heavy, solid wood (perhaps teak or mahogany). Each piece is intricately hand-carved and fits in its precise location in the temple like a puzzle (the pieces are marked on the bottom with their corresponding placement on the temple floor). Likely mid to late 20th century but perhaps older. A rather wonderful piece. We have not come across another like it thus quite rare. Would make for a very eye-catching accent piece in about any setting. Approximate dimensions: 15" high, 18" wide, 28.5" deep when looking straight on.
