About the Item
Large size sperm whale wall plaque by Clark Voorhees. This carving is just under three feet long. The whale is signed on the back with the artist's monogram and name. The lower jaw shows a glue line. I have seen this described as a repair but this was part of the making. The top jaw was cut continuing through the lower jaw. The teeth could then be put in the jaw. Then it was glued back together. There are two possible small dents near the tail.
