This pair of beautifully hand-carved offering or collection boxes originates from Portugal and dates back to the 19th century. Each piece is crafted from solid oak and shaped in the form of a stylized fish, a powerful Christian symbol representing faith and spiritual nourishment.
The boxes exhibit remarkable craftsmanship, featuring detailed hand-carved scales, fins, and facial features. The eyes are made from genuine animal bone reflecting traditional Portuguese folk artistry.
