About the Item
Frank Meisler Sculpture Jewish Art.
Low-relief carved plaque.
Depicting on the front the walls and gates of the city of Jerusalem, the buildings within them, the Temple Mount, and the hills around the city walls.
Two lions are depicted on the back, engraved with the biblical phrase:
"If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill. My tongue sticks to my palate, if I do not remember you; if I do not put Jerusalem above my utmost joy."
Sculpture carved and handcrafted by sculptor Frank Meisler, with silver and gold-plated elements, marble base.
Frank Meisler was an Israeli sculptor born in Gdansk and living in London since childhood. He moved to Israel in the late 1950s where he opened a workshop and gallery of his works.
He has made several works and monuments for different nations, such as the memorial for Kiev, the Holocaust memorial synagogue in Moscow, etc.
The work is a multiple and bears the artist's signature and numbering on the front.
