About the Item
Extremely unique wooden sewer cap prototype. Made by by various wooden cubes and blocks as well as letters nailed to the front of the main ply of the cap giving it its design. The base has some crossbars also made of wood which can be used for carrying or hanging. The word "SEWER" is hand written on the edge of the cap giving it a nice touch of detail. Possibly used as a manhole prototype before making the mold for the standard metal covers. Perfect age and patina give this piece an eye catching finish. Fantastic piece of metropolitan pop art.
