About the Item
Life-sized, mohair Steiff Elk, probably from the 1960s. Steiff referred to these life-size stuffed creatures as, “studio animals” and were very expensive when new. As I child, we would occasionally visit New York City and I can remember seeing them in F.A O. Schwarz. Our particular Steiff Elk, is 5’ long and over 4’ tall and admittedly has had some repairs during the last almost 60 years.
