About the Item
A beautifully patined Dogon fragment of a head sculpture. Because of its natural wear perhaps even being more abstract and natural. As African art inspired the European modernist movement their general image became part of the collective art history reference frame. When seeing this example artist like Modigliani immediatly come to mind. But because the wood is playing out a important role in itself it seems almost to be made by nature itself.
