Antique Ceremonial Raffia Fiber Dance Kerchief, Ivory Coast
These unusual Dida textiles are made from hand-plaited raffia fiber that is tie and stitch-resist dyed with natural pigments, creating a wonderfully graphic and richly textured surface. This example was used as a dance kerchief, and has finished selvedges on all four sides. Width: 17.75 inches, Height: 26 inches.
