About the Item
Well used and loved Nupe carved hardwood wood stool with four legs and central post, openwork geometric design, with stylized multiple dancing animal or lizard forms. Large conical "leg" in center, hollowed out with removable (currently a bit stuck) panel in center on top for storage. Vigorously incised design on top.
It is in good condition, appropriate for its age, use, and medium. Well used with deep patina, chips and some small parts of lower edge of side panels missing. Scuffs and nicks here and there.
Mid 20th century or older.
