Fine portrait kpwan mask with tall braided hair design, dark to black patina, from the Baule People Ivory Coast Africa, ex Fearing.
Well carved features, curved slit eyes, open mouth with carved teeth.
It is in good condition, appropriate for its age, use, and medium. Well used with early dry patina, chips and erosion in places. Scuffs and nicks here and there. Good evidence of use and wear inside from tribal use. Old stable repair to proper left hair tuft.
