Early to mid century danced light wood mask from the Kumu or Maniema region, Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa with face divided into four opposing quadrants with orange and traces of white pigments. Finely carved mask with carved open square eyes, and mouth with carved pointed teeth..
It is in good condition, appropriate for its age, use, and medium. Well used with early dry patina, chips and erosion in places. Scuffs and nicks here and there. Good evidence of use and wear inside from tribal use.
