About the Item
A large incise decorated Gourd from the Kamba Tribe, Kenya. The design is of a herd of somewhat stylized overlapping Elephants marching in single file. Delicate traditional geometric blackened incised rings surround the upper portion and lower band as well as the background of the Elephant design. Partial paper tag on the base denotes Kenya as the place of origin.
Dimensions: 13.5” high by 12.5” diameter.
Condition: Please see detail photos. Various expected and acceptable signs of age include some finish losses as well as natural occurring imperfections inherent to the Gourd do not detract from the fine Organic presentation.
