About the Item

Tribal carved cup with handle with incised and carved design. Possibly from the Abeam People in the Sepik Region of New Guinea, the cup has overall meandering incised design and a strongly carved face on the handle center with open mouth as if calling. A very well crafted ethnographic piece with a fine age patina. Dimensions: 5 1/4" W x 5 1/4" D x 5 1/4" H Condition: Please see detail photos. The shell has expected and enhancing signs of age with some interior losses to the inner shell. Otherwise the piece has a soft age patina that is a pleasure to handle and the presentation is mysterious and quite fine.
