About the Item

Powerful and haunting carved figural sculpture of a standing female figure in close embrace with an animal attendant, possibly a crocodile. The Sculpture is very worn and distressed with splintering, losses, paint losses and wear. The head removes from the torso and the piece, while able to stand, is not balanced and requires stabilization. Dimensions: 49” high by 8” wide by 7” deep. Condition: Please see detail photos. The Sculpture is distressed with many wood and finish losses however still retaining a very powerful tribal Oceanic presentation.
