About the Item
Seated female figure on classic Akan stool holding a sword. From the Ewe people of Ghana, West Africa. Created as three separate carved pieces of wood that fit together for display, figure, stool and sword. Traces of white, black painted accents on hair eyes and sandals. Created early to mid 20th century for use in shrine. Traditional scarification mark on cheeks.
It is in good condition, appropriate for its age, use, and medium. Scuffs and nicks here and there.
