About the Item
A large and Primitive Shield form carving likely African or possibly Oceanic. In Tribal culture the Crocodile is regarded as a powerful Spiritual being and is often associated with Strength, Ancestors or Creators and they are seen as divine and able to cross the boundary between worlds. Carved wood with a crocodile in high relief on the front and painted white and colored ovals in the field. Loop for suspension on the back.
