These pale blue enamel pendant lights were reclaimed from a 1950s electrical substation in the Northwest of England, produced during a period when British industrial design prioritised longevity, precision, and material integrity. Measuring 365 mm in diameter, each shade is formed from vitreous enamelled steel and finished in a soft powder-blue exterior, paired with a crisp white interior to maximise light reflectance.
The pendants retain their original polished aluminium galleries, detailed with ribbed banding and a cast *Made in England* mark, a subtle but unmistakable sign of their manufacturing heritage. Originally installed to illuminate control panels and factory floors, the shades were designed to deliver even, functional light, a quality that translates effortlessly into contemporary settings.
Today, they are well suited for use above kitchen islands, dining tables, or retail counters, where their restrained colour and industrial provenance add character without overpowering a space. Light surface wear and gentle patina across the enamel offer authentic evidence of age and use.
Each pendant has been professionally restored in the UK and is supplied with a one-metre ceiling suspension kit, including chain and ceiling hook, ready for installation in modern interiors.
