About the Item
Impressive industrial pendant lights salvaged from factories in the south of the former Czechoslovakia, manufactured by Elektrosvit, one of the region’s leading state-run lighting producers during the mid-20th century. Dating from the 1960s–1970s, these substantial fixtures were originally designed for heavy-duty use in large industrial halls and engineering workshops.
Each pendant features a deep black vitreous enamel shade with its original glossy finish, paired with a robust finned aluminium gallery—a characteristic Elektrosvit detail engineered for heat dissipation around high-wattage bulbs. The upper housing retains its authentic worn factory finish, giving each light a unique, time-worn patina that speaks to its working industrial past.
Restored sympathetically and rewired for modern interiors, these large 43cm pendants offer bold, architectural presence. Ideal for kitchens, lofts, dining spaces or commercial environments looking to introduce genuine Eastern Bloc industrial character.
