About the Item

1980s German large opalescent white and polished brass domed cylindrical pendant lamp manufactured by Glashütte Limburg. This elegant industrial looking lamp is very large and heavy. The white glass shade is screwed into the brass dome with a single screw this allows easy access to the lightbulbs inside. This version of the lamp has an open hole in the circular base whilst other versions are closed at the bottom and curved inwards. It's a beautiful and unusual light which looks incredible when unlit too almost sculptural. The wiring has been checked and they're all in full working order. The lamps can hang from the white wire flex which has a thin metal wire inside to support them. The length of the lightbulbs provides an overall illumination of the whole cylinder. Each light requires 2 x Philips Master PL-L Compact Fluorescent Bulb 840 4-Pin 2G11/36W/Cool White. The light is soft and not too bright which is just as well because they're fluorescent bulbs and not dimmable. The wiring of this item is original. Dimensions: Shade Dome Overall Height: 62cm Dome Height: 16cm Cylinder Shade Height Only: 47cm Diameter: 22cm I have 6 available with the original wiring and lightbulbs. I have another 6 available on a separate listing but their white supporting flexes have been cut for some reason in the past. I have therefore shown other options instead of the wire. These are £100 cheaper to take this rewiring into account.
