About the Item
An example of Italian Postmodernism, where utilitarian elements are elevated to high design. Designed by Valerio Sacchetti for Sirrah in 1984, the 'Edison' pendant serves as a reductionist homage to the incandescent bulb.
The fixture consists of a sculptural socket holder crafted from high-gloss white porcelain. The shape echoes the curve of a lightbulb, creating a simple silhouette when paired with a large globe bulb. The ceramic body is embossed with the signature 'V. Sacchetti' and 'Sirrah Edison' around the cable entry, authenticating the piece. Its design relies on the honesty of its simple materials, ceramic and glass, stripping away all unnecessary ornamentation.
Excellent vintage condition. The porcelain body is well-preserved and free of chips or cracks.
