About the Item

A vintage European set of six Industrial style ceiling lamps made of hand crafted metal, in good condition. The text on the lights in Russian roughly translates to "to open, disconnect from ( electricity ) network" and a small CCCP logo. The collection consists of four grey colored and two green colored lamps. The wires have been renewed. Minor fading, due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950 - 1960, East Europe. At nuclear power plants, mines, chemical enterprise, defense industries and other facilities where the risk of explosion and fire is high, explosion-proof lamps are used. Their design features make it possible to prevent the occurance of man made disasters and emergency situations.
