About the Item
A colorful, antique French Art Deco pagoda ceiling light, chandelier made of hand blown cut crystal glass attributed to Maison Baguès, in good condition. The detailed hexagon Parisian pendant is supported by a chromed metal frame, particularized by red and white hanging prism glass pieces. The Asian style temple lamp is composed with six candle sticks which are sitting on a clear, slightly arched glass plate, halted by a short curved arm. The wires have been renewed. Circa 1920 - 1930, Paris, France.
The Maison Baguès is a French company, founded by Baguès circa in 1840, in Auvergne, France. In the early time, Baguès specialized in liturgical bronze and later on to bronze lighting. In 1920s, his sons Victor and Robert Baques took the company over and expanded the bronze lighting collection and created, designed their own iron models. Various well known artists and decorators of that time were their clients, including the French Artist Raymond Subes and the French furniture maker, designer Armand Albert Rateau. As if today, The Maison Baguès continues to serve many decorators, a synonym of elegance and excellent design.

Pietro Chiesa was an Italian designer born in 1892, in Milan, Italy and passed away in 1948, Paris, France. Chiesa finished his apprenticeship in the studio of the furniture designer, interior decorator Giovan Battista Gianotti in Milan. Chiesa comes from an artistic family, he opened his own glass making studio, Botega di Pietro Chiesa in 1921 Milan. Chiesa concentrated mainly on designing glass, he treated glass like a valuable material.
