About the Item
Adjustable pendant lamp from the Aggregato lighting system, attributed to Enzo Mari and produced by Artemide, Italy, circa 1970s.
This example features a spun metal conical shade in black, suspended on a textile-wrapped cord with exposed pulley and spherical counterweight. Height adjustable via the counterweight mechanism. The design is characteristic of the Aggregato programme, conceived as a modular system based on visible mechanics, balance, and interchangeable components.
The counterweight, pulley assembly, and proportions correspond to early production examples commonly associated with 1970s Artemide manufacture.
Please note: while this lamp aligns closely with documented Aggregato pendants by Enzo Mari (often credited with Giancarlo Fassina), no manufacturer’s label is present. Attribution is made on the basis of design, construction, and known production details rather than definitive documentation.

Good vintage condition.
Wear consistent with age and use, including surface wear to the shade and minor patina to metal components. No structural issues. The lamp has been rewired and tested.
A clear example of Enzo Mari’s systems-based approach to lighting design, where function and structure are intentionally exposed rather than concealed.
