Sculptural Murano chandelier by Aldo Nason for AV Mazzega, Italy, circa 1970. Thick organic glass elements with a flowing biomorphic profile, diffusing light with a warm atmospheric glow. An elegant and artistic focal point in any interior.
This chandelier is an expressive example of Aldo Nason’s sculptural glasswork for AV Mazzega in the 1970s. Descending from one of Murano’s historic glassmaking dynasties, Nason explored forms inspired by natural processes rather than geometry. The result is glass that appears almost fluid, frozen in motion, with a surface texture reminiscent of melted ice, mineral formations and water carved by light.
Each glass element is hand-shaped and uniquely contoured, creating an interplay of transparency and soft diffusion when illuminated. The chandelier appears almost weightless when suspended, yet its presence is highly sculptural and refined, making it suitable for interiors that privilege material quality and form.
