One of a kind, hand-crafted pendant with original glass.
A fine and authentic Arts
Crafts ceiling pendant, hand-crafted in wrought iron around 1910 in the Netherlands. Originally created for the entrance of an Arts and Crafts house, this lantern reflects the sober yet refined Dutch interpretation of the movement.
The design is striking in its simplicity, a restrained, almost Calvinist aesthetic, yet full of subtle detailing that reveals its artisanal origins. Note the rivets in the
construction, the hand-hammered roof with ventilation cutouts, and the original chain and ceiling canopy, all of which speak to its authenticity and craftsmanship.
The lantern is fitted with its original cathedral (Byzantine) glass panels. These textured panes softly diffuse the light, creating a warm, serene atmosphere that feels both timeless and inviting.
Its practical size makes it ideal for an entrance hall, stairwell, or smaller room in an early 20th-century home, though it would also lend great character to a more contemporary setting.
Condition:
Good original condition with expected signs of age and use. Iron with a naturally aged patina; glass intact and original.
