Antique German Pendant Light Wooden Polychrome Lüsterweibchen with Lantern, from circa 1920.
This adorable and compact size Lüsterweibchen - chandelier features a masterfully carved figure of a young lady in a red dress with a spinning wheel, adorned with mounted horns. This hand-carved polychrome and golden hand-painted figure is hung on three chains and is holding a metal lantern with white semi-translucent glass.
The message on the Lüsterweibchen ribbon says: "Spin, spin, my daughter, your suitor is coming tomorrow!”.
Dimensions circa: height: 88 cm / 34.64 in; width: 34 cm / 13.38 in; depth: 40 cm / 15.74 in.
One socket for E14 size light bulb.
In good condition with some signs of aging and use, with slight losses of painting.
The light fixture is in complete working order, but as with all vintage or antique lighting, we would always suggest it is installed by a qualified electrician.
