About the Item
- An original and extremely rare Verico Luzette with daylight glass designed by Peter Behrens for Siemens, Germany circa 1920.
- Two tone glass with Siemens etch mark, copper gallery, central band and original ceiling rose.
- Beautiful original condition, these pendants were unique in the fact that they were designed to reproduce daylight with the manufacture of a blue glass dish across the lower section.
- Rewired in braided flex and PAT tested.
- Height 77cm, Width 32cm, Depth 32cm.
Peter Behrens was a leading German architect and industrial designer and to many the father of modern industrial design. Best known for his early pioneering AEG Turbine Hall in Berlin in 1909, he had a long career, designing objects, typefaces, and important buildings in a range of styles from the 1900s to the 1930s.
