This is a beautiful pair of English Ballroom crystal chandeliers each with forty-one lights arranged over three tiers, and circa 1920 in date.
This magnificent pair of chandelier have exceptional crystal covered casting with an abundance of exquisite large crystal drops suspended from rows of crystal buttons. The bottom of the chandeliers are each hung with a very large crystal ball and the chandeliers come complete with the original ormolu gilt ceiling fittings.
Whether placed in a hallway, foyer, or reception room these magnificent chandeliers makes the ultimate statement.

In excellent condition having been beautifully restored and rewired, please see photos for confirmation.

The word chandelier appeared in the English language in the late 14th century, borrowed directly from 12th century Old Spanish. This was a new spelling of the 10th century French word chandelabre, which comes from the Latin candelabrum, itself from the Latin candela (meaning candle).
The earliest candle chandeliers were used by the wealthy in medieval times.
The world's largest Bohemian crystal chandelier, a gift from Queen Victoria, is located in the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul. It has 750 lamps and weighs 4.5 tons. Dolmabahçe has the largest collection of Bohemian and Baccarat crystal chandeliers in the world, and one of the great staircases has balusters of Baccarat crystal.
