About the Item
- A beautifully shaped original art deco church opaline pendant light with copper gallery, England circa 1930.
- Wear commensurate with age, in a satin opaline finish and open bottom, wonderful condition with original chain and ceiling rose.
- Rewired with dark brown braided flex and PAT tested, ready to hang.
- Priced individually, there is a pair available albeit slightly different design to the gallery.
- Total Height 70cm, Pendant Height 33cm, Width 25cm, Depth 25cm.
Opaline Glass Opaline is a form of decorative glassware which was made throughout the 19th century, manufacture was predominantly French, although it was inspired by Venetian Milk Glass, and White Glass produced in Bristol. The popularity of Opaline glass began during the reign of Napoleon and various locations across in England were involved in their production. The opaline glass is characterised by a bright white colour, the high lead content defined it as crystal like, giving it jewel-like qualities across its appearance.
