Bellissimo lampadario a sei braccia in vetro di Murato lavorato a reticolo, disegnato da Aureliano Toso negli anni '50
Una delle tecniche decorative più eleganti messe a punto dai maestri vetrai muranesi è quella del “vetro a filigrana” o più semplicemente della “filigrana”.
Dalla più semplice tecnica della “mezza filigrana” sono nate successivamente le tecniche della “filigrana a reticello” o “doppia filigrana” e della “filigrana a retortoli” o “zanfirico”, più elaborate e complesse.
Ideate a Murano nel XVI secolo, vennero poi esportata dai veneziani in tutta Europa e furono particolarmente apprezzate nell’Ottocento.
Queste tecniche vengono realizzate utilizzando canne di vetro trasparente (cristallo) contenenti all’interno fili rettilinei o intrecciati tra loro di colore bianco (lattimo) o di vetro colorato, creando l’effetto di un delicato merletto all’interno della parete vitrea.
