About the Item

A unique and most elegant Baltic 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and hand blown glass lantern. The lantern is centered by a fine bottom ormolu topie shaped finial below the striking and most elegant elongated hand blown bell jar. At the top of the jar is a lovely wrap around pierced ormolu band from where the four beautifully scrolled arms branch out leading to baluster shaped candle cups. Four striking diamond shaped chains with exceptionally fitted crystal reserves lead upwards to the unique and very decorative inverted hand blown glass dome with a scalloped shaped border and fine tear drop shaped crystal pendants.
