About the Item
An extremely large suspension piece. This design is univerversally attributed to Barovier
Toso and is composed of a beautiful crossed tessere ambra design.
The central design is surrounded by a clear incalmo and a black bead at the lip.
Though there are several scattered bubbles here and there, they do not diminish the beauty of the piece, as can be seen in the photos.
The design is very large, with a 70 cm 28" diameter, and it is very heavy.
The hardware connotes the age of the piece and upon request it will be restored or replaced. The same goes for the electrical parts.
The quality is not as superb as one you could see on the Ercole Barovier tessere vase, so possibly it’s a production line piece. The glass is heavy and the clear incalmo is probably is a mezzo incalmo (when one part that joins, in this case the tessere part, is shaped as a vase and the other is a blob of glass). This would also imply a production line.
The lip bead, called in Murano morisa is thick and completes the piece nicely.
When lit the pattern is highly visible. Perhaps a mirrored bulb would further enhance the beauty of the piece.

Scattered bubbles inside the glass and some fading which is from the original. Hardware has a real dark patina. Upon request will be restored or changed. Same for the w.
