A rare find from the 1950s of Dutch lighting, this terracotta pendant was produced by Artiforte in Rotterdam. While Artiforte is best known for its technical metal designs, this piece highlights the mid-century embrace of natural, organic materials.

Originally marketed in Artiforte's catalogs as a functional downlight, specifically as "plant lighting" or supplementary grow lights to nurture indoor plants.
The design features a simple tapered form with a series of precise cutouts along the top rim. These perforations allow heat to escape and cast a playful pattern of light and shadow on the ceiling.
