About the Item
An iconic piece of Scandinavian lighting design, the “Bumling” pendant lamp was created in 1968 by Swedish designer Anders Pehrson for Ateljé Lyktan. Its name, meaning “boulder” in Swedish, reflects its bold, rounded form that quickly became a hallmark of mid-century lighting.
This rare brass version features a gleaming polished surface paired with the original white acrylic diffuser, which provides a beautifully softened and even distribution of light. The combination of sculptural presence and warm brass tones makes it a striking focal point for dining rooms, kitchens, or living spaces.
Renowned for both its playful proportions and practical functionality, the Bumling became one of Sweden’s most beloved design exports of the 1970s. Today, it remains a highly collectible piece that embodies the best of Scandinavian modernism.
This example is presented in excellent condition, with only minor signs of age consistent with its vintage. A true design classic ready to elevate any interior.
