About the Item
A rare Swedish pendant by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for AB Markaryd, model ‘Carolin’ T549/3. Designed in 1963, this softly domed fixture is clad in pleated, amber-toned textile, its glow warm and diffused when lit. Below, a brushed metal finial anchors the form, balanced by a matching canopy and structural arms in patinated metal.
The silhouette is architectural yet inviting, a study in line, light, and proportion. An expressive piece—equally at home above a dining table, reading corner, or entryway.
Condition: Great vintage condition. The pleated textile shade shows minor scuffs, faint marks, and subtle seam wear consistent with use and age. The metal elements retain a warm patina throughout. This pendant has been professionally rewired by our team of restorationists and accommodates three E26 light bulbs.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
