French Art Deco ceiling-light by Cherrier
Besnus, 36 rue Amelot, Paris, France, 1920s. Large molded glass shade showing a stylized floral pattern hung on its wrought-iron fixture. Measures: Height: 65cm (25.6"), diameter: 26cm (10.2"). Signed "Cherrier
Besnus" near the rim (see photo). Same period as Rene Lalique, Sabino, Hettier-Vincent, etc. Delivered wired for your country (US, UK, EU, China, Australia, etc). LED can be used.
Cherrier
Benus took over in 1926 from René Massin, a manufacturer of lighting fixtures active during the early 20th century, and continued in the same premises at 36 rue Amelot in the eleventh arrondissement of Paris. Massin produced bronze lighting in a neo-classical and art nouveau style. Cherrier et Besnus continued the production of these Massin products as well as introduced new designs in art deco style. They opened a second larger workshop in Choisy.
