The new collection by Pedro Ávila, titled Neo-Romance, continues his exploration of the tensions between past and future. The pieces evoke nostalgic forms reimagined through a futuristic lens. In Neo-Romance, these principles are reinterpreted in a contemporary context. The collection’s name, pronounced the same in Portuguese and English, offers a poetic reflection on the evolving idea of romantic love, while the titles of the pieces blend historical and literary references with subtle irony drawn from contemporary expressions of affection and desire.
